Overview

A full-day tour to the ancient city of Ayutthaya, The Thai capital for 417 years, is one of Thailand’s major tourist attractions. Many ancient ruins and art works can be seen in a city that was founded in 1350 by King U-Thong when the Thais were forced southwards by northern neighbors. During the period of Ayutthaya being the Thai capital, 33 kings of different dynasties ruled the kingdom until it was sacked by the Burmese in 1767. The area, well conserved as a historical park, has been included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage since 13 December 1991.

Itinerary


Pick up from hotel lobby and depart to Ayutthaya Town, (1½ hour’s drive) North of Bangkok. Visit to Ayutthaya Historical Park covers the ruins of the old city of Ayutthaya, Thailand, which was founded in 1350 and was the capital of the country until its destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. The area well conserved as a historical park, has been included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage since 13 December 1981. 

Proceed to Yai Chaimongkon Temple, features a large reclining Buddha in saffron robes in its own ruined wiharn, and, most spectacularly, a huge chedi swathed in golden cloth set in a courtyard which is lined by Buddha images all wearing saffron robes. 

Visit the local museum:
Wednesday to Sunday = Chao Sam Phraya National Museum.
Monday and Tuesday = The Ayutthaya Historical Study Centre.

Continue to Ayutthaya Ancient Palace, was original built King U-Thong in the 14 th century, and was expanded

Continue to Phra Si Sanphet Temple, the most important temple within the Royal Palace compound and the original from which the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok has been copied. Three outstanding Ceylonese style pagodas were built during the 15th century.

City-sightseeing tour along the Inner City. En route you can see many magnificent temples and ruins, including Wat Mahathat, Wat Ratburana, Wat Phra Ram then feeding the food to elephant at Ayutthaya Elephant Camp.
 
Lunch served at the local restaurant.
Before continue afternoon tour, quick visit to Ayutthaya Elephant Camp for feeding the food to elephant. Across the Rivers to the south of the Island. Visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram, one of the most imposing ancient 

Leave from Ayutthaya pass green paddy fields, villages, and temples then return to Bangkok.

Then transfer back to the hotel.
